PV cables are long exposed to outdoor UV radiation, day-night temperature differences, and humid heat environments. Dedicated PV cables offer UV resistance, high/low-temperature resistance, aging resistance, and corrosion resistance; regular cables in such environments are prone to sheath chalking and cracking, leading to short circuits and leakage. PV power stations, rooftop distributed systems, and desert power stations should all use dedicated PV cables, and substitution with regular cables is not recommended.
PV cables are specialized wires designed for 25-year outdoor service life; substituting regular cables significantly increases the risk of insulation failure and fire.
